Joy Henson was herself a pioneer when many years ago she re-created her Ohio home into a replica 1820s tavern, complete with 18th and early 19th century furniture and artifacts. She’s been a reenactor for years and brought the same respect for authenticity to her home, which became a model for countless other people to literally surround themselves with the historical period they love. This is one home where it’s so true that entering it feels like stepping into the past of two centuries ago.
